This is war, and so fighting will occur. If you do not want your character maimed, marred, scarred, or injured in any capacity, I suggest you either make a character that is neither a Citadel Witch or a Merc. Another option would be to simply not register for the site. Tough luck. In any case, if you are still interested in our roleplay, we have three types of fighting IC on site. If, by chance, a circumstance arises where none of the options apply, well, we'll make room for you and congratulate you on being creative enough to circumvent our rules.
Our three types of fighting:
[X] Battles.
[X] Duels.
[X] Raids.

Battles are site-wide and occur roughly once a month, depending on the length and activity of it. If the threads are the length of a month, then perhaps we'll skip the next one to give characters a chance to heal. In this time, 10 threads will be open to roleplay in, in which characters can bounce around to their discretion. If your character moves a lot, these threads allow a less crowded thread, with more options. More options, in my opinion, means more fun. NPCs can be killed at will -- for obvious reasons. Going against others, however, is an entirely different matter and requires a certain set of rules to be followed. Don't worry, it sounds more complicated than it really is -- they're just put into place to insure a fairness, and to lower the possibility of godmoding.
If you've registered and noticed the cool little dice button, then you've found our randometer. With the use of this button, battles are held. You type up your response, and at the end of it, press that nifty little button and then reply.
The six-sided die will tell you which number it randomly landed on, after you've posted. All even numbers, land the strike. All odds miss. It is up to your opponent, or opponents to pick up the thread and explain how you might've missed (ie: dodge) or how hurt they've gotten from it. It's pretty simple, no? Of course, when the next person retaliates after dodging, they, too, have to press the button. And so on, and so forth.

It's bound to happen. Rivalries will heat up, and a character may want to beat down another character. Not only is this allowed, but encouraged.
In a duel, each player gets 3 posts. The one to issue the challenge must go first. In each post, there is allowed 2 attacks, and one dodge, and cannot bypass 1000 words. There will be no rolling of the die -- a character will more than likely get hit at least once per turn.
The winner will be judged by a staff member based on the following:
- RULES:
- Did each character follow rules of combat?
- Are there no more than 2 attacks per post, one dodge?
- Are there less than 1000 words, more than 300?
- Ect, ect.
- PORTRAYAL:
- How well is the character portrayed? This is not neccesarily based on length but quality.
- Does the judge understand your character, or is it an inconsistent roleplay of him/her?
- MOTIVATION:
- Does s/he really want to win?
- Are they confidant?
- Do they have just cause and know it?
- GRAMMAR:
- Do you use correct grammar?
- Structure, diction, fragment sentences, etc etc.
- CREATIVITY:
- How creative are your attacks?
- How well do you react and adjust to your opponents actions?
- STATS:
- How much does your character weigh in comparison to the other?
- Are they both male or is one female?
- Is one phenominally younger than the other?
- Does weight and height play a part in fighting styles?

Raids are one of the more fun threads. Again, this is an event, but the events are "secret". Only those who are infiltrating know In Character what is going to happen. Again, 10 threads will be open so others can roleplay where they want at will. This is, for the most part, a free for all. We give you, based on a range of choices, and the roll of the dice, an end that must be met, and however you want that to occur, you get it done.
Those who want to participate will know the options, and reply to the thread, pressing that nifty button you use for Battles. The number on the die corresponding with the choice listed is what you will have to fulfill.EXAMPLE:
A raid will occur on the Magistrate. The Coventry are attacking. These are the options available for the Magistrate Witches:
1. No injury.
2. Cut on the arm.
3. arrow through the leg.
4. Stabbed in the shoulder.
5. knocked unconscious.
6. Kidnapped.
Any Magistrate Witch who wants to participate will reply. When you reply, you'll put your character's name, age, powers, and familiars, and press the Dice button. The corresponding number on the die is what will occur to your character. It must be roleplayed out. If you really have a problem with what's going to happen to your character, pm one of the Admins and we'll sort it out for you.
If, by chance, your character will be kidnapped, the opposite team will be alerted so they know to cooperate and find your character. Feel free to put up as much of a fight as you want, as long as the end result is found.
Of course, if you want your character to be stolen away, or any other type of plot development, pm one of the Admins and we'll help set it up for you.
Raids are held randomly.
If you have questions,
ask me or any of the staff
to further explain.
