CITADEL OF THOUGHT: COVENTRY
HISTORY--
The Coventry was once called the Coven, until morality and greed split the united front into two different Citadels. Founded by Lorraine and Danco, a pair of ruthless siblings who shared both their depravity as well as the power (and rumored to share other things), the Coventry follows the darker paths of magic. They were the two which brought Black Magic back to life during the Second Inquisition, and possibly saved all of Witchkind, though it ended with the extermination of anything human. They were also the ones who saved the Werewolves from extinction, but that doesn't, in history's eyes, amend the wrongs they had done.
Because of their ruthless nature, the Coventry is not known for kindness or patience: the work is hard, and brutal, and very little gentleness can be found. It is meant to harden young minds against the harsh nature of the world, to make them stronger for battle when they grow old enough to enter the War.
Lorraine was poisoned in her sleep, some say by her brother, others by a prank gone wrong, or some other mischief that took the aging hag out of the throne of power. Once the woman passed away, Danco seemed to lose whatever sanity he had had left and disappeared into the bowels of the Citadel, trying to find ways to bring the woman back to life. It's rumored that perhaps he's still down there, tinkering away with the ancient magic texts, trying to find a way to circumvent death.
The Coventry did not fall to pieces, however, but grew stronger in their battle against the Magistrate: Arhi Skalos, a young, ambitious woman, took control of the power base, along with Isius Kalandor and Ulysses Zerris. The three, though young, were powerful, and battle hardened. All of them knowing a life without control of the Ley lines, doubled the efforts to getting Thana in their clutches for more than the three meager months that the Coventry had been able to claim in the past. They even hired a food Taster.
Likening the trio power to the Trinity of the Elements, support seemed to surged upward.
STRUCTURE--
The Citadel is broken into two main parts: The Court and the School, which are then sub-divided once again into smaller sects. The court: Exalted, Advisors, Warriors, Scouts, Masters. The School: Worms, Novices, Apprentices, Soldiers.
COURT:
Laws, rules and government is done here. Petitions given over to the Exalted. Battle plans are thought of here, discussion and over all running of the territory that they do own.
- Exalted >>> The Trinity power.
- Advisors >>> Advisers in state, and treasury.
- Warriors >>> Fighters.
- Scouts >>> Those who are sent to spy on Magistrate movement.
- Masters >>> Those who train students in the school.
SCHOOL:
Less of a school, and more of a training camp for the next wave of soldiers, what's taught here, is control, firearms, defense and how to stay fit. Most importantly: how to do the most damage in the littlest amount of time. The Coventry is not worried about civilian casualties. They only care about winning, and gaining control of the port, and the Ley line.
The belief of this Witchcraft is based on draining innocent souls for power, as opposed to using your own, so only those emotionless and ambitious Witches tend to rise in the ranks and gain power in the Citadel.
Motto: "Mercy is a weakness."
- Worms >>> Those younger than 14 who don't have Familiars.
- Novices >>> Those who have just gotten their Familiars, and found their Talent.
- Apprentices >>> Those who have mastered their magic.
- Soldiers >>> Those who have mastered their weaponry as well. Ready to go into battle.
