CITADEL OF THOUGHT:
MAGISTRATE
HISTORY--

The Magistrate was once part of the Coven, until Tirou Loison and Jeloa Ide grew sick with disgust at the power-hungry desperation which gripped their leaders. Killing innocent men and women for the sake of power was not acceptable to them, and so they split, dissembling the Coven and starting up a new way of practicing magic. The Old Ways, they liked to the call it, though the Conventry always sneered at the name, for the true ancient way was of blood and death. Still, they worshiped the Earth, and worshiped love and life, naming themselves Protectors of the People. Essostiana Anildor and Taizi Unendora were added to the ranks of Protectors and they gathered those who wished to practice magic safely without injury to those around them.
It was then that they realized they could use their own soul as energy, and use the Ley line to replenish themselves. There were some kinks in it, for pulling too much on your own soul could cause some serious damage, no matter that it would be rejuvenated later, but it was a safer way to practice, and to live. When the Ley line was taken by the Coventry, the Magistrate pulled together an army to take it back, sickened by the amount of death that piled up around them. It was the beginning of the true war, the schism that started it all.
When the Coventry took back Thana, it began the visceral struggle that is still going on now. Tirou and Jeloa died by Coventry hospitality, taken by two assassin Familiars who crept into their bedroom and killed them with poison. Essostiana and Taizi likewise died from Coventry treachery leaving five new Senators to take up the fight. Bedra Ousia, Drejis Lasia, Tiajes Kurys, Adama Eddaris, and Wytes Tygai rose up, ready to continue onward. Heartened by the death of Lorraine and Danco, the Magistrate gained astronomical support.
STRUCTURE --
The Citadel is broken into two main parts: The Court and the School, which are then sub-divided once again into smaller sects. The Court: Senators, Hammers, Warriors, Masters. The School: Youth, Novices, Apprentices, Soldiers.
COURT:
Laws, rules and government is done here. Petitions given over to the Senators, then given over for voting. Battle plans are thought of here, discussion and over all running of the territory that they do own.
- Senators >>> The highest power.
- Hammers >>> Protectors of the People. They judge right from wrong, and punish those strictly who have broken the rules.
- Warriors >>> Fighters.
- Masters >>> Those who train students in the school.
SCHOOL:
Very much a school, they teach more than just defensive fighting. They also teach morals, and a distinct awareness of the wrongness of what the Coventry teaches. They are taught control, firearms, defense and how to stay fit, but more important than that, they are there to protect civilians from harm, keeping the innocents safe. Gaining the Port and Ley line is only second to keeping life.[/li][/ul][/BLOCKQUOTE][/BLOCKQUOTE]
The belief of this Witchcraft is based on using one's own soul for power, and replenishing yourself with the power of the Ley line afterward, so morally brave individuals, and those who can both keep the peace while gaining access to the Ley line and Port tend to rise and gain power. These are genuinely good people.
Motto: "Life is precious."
- Youth >>> Those younger than 14 who don't have Familiars.
- Novices >>> Those who have just gotten their Familiars, and foud their Talent.
- Apprentices >>> Those who have mastered their magic.
- Soldiers >>> Those who have mastered their weaponry as well. Ready to go into battle.
